- A range of chips made by bonding precision-molded plastic plates is available, offering competitive prices in mass production quantities. The minimum channel size is 50μm square. Channel patterns can be freely designed. A choice of materials, COC (cyclic olefin copolymer), PMMA (acrylic), and PS (polystyrene), are available. These materials all exhibit excellent optical characteristics.
- Bonding is successful by using a unique technique that does not use adhesive, so the channels are absolutely contamination-free. The bonded surface is beautifully finished, giving outstanding transparency. As the channel size is minimized, the quantity of sample or reagent used can be reduced. Furthermore, since precision-molded plastic plates are used, and the price can be decreased in mass-production, these chips are suitable for use as disposable testing chips. Bonding of machined plates is also possible for prototype chips without using molding tools.
