Takasago’s Portable Medium Replacement System enters the International Space Station with the help of JAXA
We support bio-experiments at the ISS "Kibo" Japanese Experiment Module. Our Portable Medium Replacement System has been remodeled as per space specifications successfully reached the International Space station (currently under the command of Astronaut Mr. Akihiko Hoshide) on 6th August ,2021. The system is said to be used in the experiments to be conducted at the International Space Station (ISS) in 2021.
The concept of “automation using a small and simple device driven by a micropump” was the basis for the manufacture of this device (Auto- Ex1), developed exclusively for JAXA to improve the efficiency and also reduce the burden on astronauts who used to manually exchange the culture previously.

From now on, we plan to contribute to experiments to elucidate the mechanism by which cells sense gravity!
May 2, 2025 memorial:
Auto-Ex1 was launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, U.S.A., on April 21 by the cargo Dragon.
On April 23, Auto-Ex1 arrived at the ISS to meet Astronaut Onishi, who was waiting on the ISS.
This is the third flight of Auto-Ex1.
It is planned to contribute to experiments to elucidate the mechanism by which cells sense gravity.
