Invitation to Micro TAS 2013

Takasago will exhibit a wide range of microfluidic solutions at Micro TAS 2013 (the 17th International Conference on Miniaturized Systems for Chemistry and Life Sciences). The exhibition will be held during 28 - 31 October, 2013 at the Messe Freiburg in Freiburg, Germany. 1. Cartridge Type Piezo Pump (Under Development)

The Cartridge type is a new addition to our piezoelectric micro pump lineup. A built-in magnet enables the pump cartridge to be easily removed from and attached to an actuator with a piezoelectric element. It is possible to sterilise the pump cartridge prior to use.

2.  Microfluidic Module Chips (Under Development)

Fluid control devices like valves, pumps, etc. are conventionally used as components separate from chips. Our microfluidic module chips have brought these devices together and integrated them into disposable and sterilisable PDMS chips. A prototype microfluidic module chip is shown at http://www.takasago-fluidics.com/news/2013/10/000110.html?newsletter47. It consists of peristaltic pumps, miniature valves, and a built-in cell culture chamber.

At Micro TAS 2013, we are going to present an advanced module, the flow schematics of which can be customised by connecting different functional fluidic chips like a jigsaw puzzle.

 

3.  Microchip Mount Type Electro-Osmotic Pump

With a diameter of 13 mm, this Microchip Mount Type Electro-Osmotic Pump (EO pump) is small and capable of being directly mounted on PDMS chips. As all processes to mount it on a PDMS chip are performed in your laboratory, chips with EO pumps can be designed flexibly and at low cost. An EO pump generates no pulsation or noise during its operation.
